Fasting is not needed.
The magnetic field is not harmful but may cause the malfunction of some medical devices. Always inform about any pacemaker, cochlear implant or other medical device implanted or fixed in your body.
Most orthopaedic implants pose no risk, but always ensure to inform the technologist about the same before starting the procedure.

The MRI face and neck is a simple, non-invasive test where you need to lie down on an exam table.
Your face and neck area are fixed with straps to avoid movements during the procedure. Despite these, the patient is requested not to move during the procedure.
Your table is moved inside the MRI magnet to acquire images.
You are given an alarm in your hand to call someone in case of any need without making many movements.
In case of any anxiety or claustrophobia, you may request sedation.
The procedure takes around 15-30 minutes.
